If I was president (and what historian wouldn't want to sit behind the Resolute desk?), this current state of pandemic would be catnip. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME
Back from France. United Airlines flight 935 touched down at LAX last night right around rush hour. Callie and I spent ten great days overseas, starting with three in Paris, three more on the Breton coast tracking the movements of General George Patton in August 1944, and then three final days in London . . .

I took Django to the dog park today. What used to be a chore is now an escape, so I sat on a bench as he trotted around with other dogs, check and rechecking my social media, because that's the only form of outside connection these days. PEELING THE BAND-AID
TIME TO BREATHE
Cross country season has come to a glorious end. My top runner earned All-American status in the mud and slop of Glendoveer Golf Course, the redwood-landscaped track where the Nike Cross Nationals were held last Saturday. The conditions were old-school cross country, every runner finishing with their singlet spattered and unrecognizable.
